The revamp will increase the capacity of the Abu Qir 3 urea granulation plant in Alexandria, Egypt, from 2000 tpd of urea granules to 2500 tpd.
With completion scheduled for 2024, the project will increase the total capacity of urea units 1-4 by 55%, from 2000 tpd to 3100 tpd.
The facility will be the first in Canada to utilise the Shell Thiogro technology, a patented process to make sulfur/urea prills for crop production.
