Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. and OCI N.V. are reportedly weighing an initial public offering of their fertilizer joint venture Fertiglobe.

The plant in Louisiana, US, has been undergoing its first planned turnaround since it was commissioned in 2016.

When the equipment replacements are complete in 2023, ammonia output will increase by 375 000 tpy.

The two plants have earned 2020 ENERGY STAR® certification from the US Environmental Protection Agency.

KBR will supply the process technology license, basic engineering design package, and proprietary equipment for the ammonia plants to increase production capacity by over 30% to 2300 tpd each.

The plant was revamped to enhance the ammonia production capacity from its original 1360 tpd to 2100 tpd and reduce energy consumption.

The availability of green hydrogen and renewable power is expected to drive further sustainable industrialisation of the port, including production of fertilizers, green steel, chemicals, fuels, and other sustainably manufactured industrial products.

The funding for its Ince manufacturing facility in Cheshire, UK, will help the company move forward with its front end engineering study to capture and store carbon dioxide from its ammonia manufacturing process.

The produced ammonia from the facility being developed by Aquamarine can be used as a fertilizer or green marine fuel, using solid oxide electrolyser cells from Haldor Topsoe.

The complex for the production of ammonia, with a capacity of 525 000 tpy, and urea, with a capacity of 700 000 tpy, is to be located at the site of JSC Shchekinoazot, in the Tula region of Russia.

The investment will be used to increase urea production and enhance the reliability of existing production units as well as improve rail infrastructure and ammonia truck loading facilities.

It is expected that project construction of the plant in Akwa Ibom state will commence no later than 3Q21. In the first phase of the project, US$1.4 billion will be invested in building out the plant and its supporting infrastructure with a target operations-commencement date of 2025.
