A report by GlobalData reveals that India has 12 new-build and expansion projects with capacity additions of about 6.97 million tpy by 2026.

The designed capacity of the UFN III plant, also known as Nitrogen Fertilizer Unit III, is 800 000 tpy of ammonia and 1.3 million tpy of carbamide.

The electrolyser plant will produce enough hydrogen to create 20 500 tpy of ammonia, which can be converted to between 60 000 and 80 000 t of green fertilizer.

Once completed, the plant will be a fully integrated, carbon-neutral facility, using solar and wind energy to produce 300 tpd of ammonia.

Instead of using fossil fuels such as natural gas to produce ammonia, the green fertilizers will be produced with ammonia based on renewable energy produced in Europe, such as Norwegian hydropower.

Including planned maintenance and unscheduled outages, Yara’s European ammonia production has been approximately 30% ( ~370 000 t) below capacity from September to November.

The ClearView digital platform is expected to be operational by early 2022.

BASF selected Clariant's new ammonia synthesis catalyst AmoMax 10 Plus for their ammonia plant in Antwerp, Belgium, after a positive experience with the previous generation at Freeport, Texas, USA.

The kettle-type condenser is manufactured from Safurex with more than 2000 U-tubes.

The electrolyser will produce green hydrogen as feedstock for up to 90 000 t of green ammonia production at EBIC in Ain Sokhna, Egypt.

Canadian company FuelPositive is targeting farming for its first demonstration pilot project.

KBR will provide its digital solution and technical advisory services for the process and equipment health of the plant using the KBR INSITE® platform.
